We Believe

  • One God in Three Persons

We believe in one eternal God who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each is fully and equally God, sharing the same divine nature and substance.

    Deut 6:4, Matt 28:18-19, 2 Cor 13:14

  • God the Father

We believe that the Father is fully God. His fatherhood is both eternal and personal. He is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and of all who believe in Him.
    1 Cor 8:6, Eph 1:3-4

  • Jesus Christ the Son

We believe that Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully human. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary. He died as a substitute for all humanity, rose bodily from the dead and ascended to heaven where He now intercedes for us before the Father.

    Rom 9:5, John 10:30, Matt 1:23-25, 1 Cor 15:3-4; 2 Cor 5:14-15; Eph 4:8; Heb 7:25

  • The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God and indwells every believer. Through faith in Christ we were baptised in this one Spirit into the body of Christ, and are sealed by that same Spirit for the day of redemption. God empowers every believer by His Spirit for service and the building up of the church. By His Spirit He works progressively in believers, causing them to bear fruit to the life of Christ in them.

    John 15:1-11; Rom 8:9; 1 Cor 12:4-11; 1 Cor 12:12-13; Gal 5:22-23; Eph 1:13; Eph 4:30; Eph 4:11-13

  • The Bible Is the Inspired Word of God

We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God, speaking truth without error, and representing the final and true authority for Christian faith and practice.

    Psalms 12:6; John 17:17; 2 Tim 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21

  • Salvation Is a Gift of Grace from God

We believe that salvation is a free and undeserved gift from God, purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ and received through faith alone. It is not earned by good works. All who place their faith in Christ are forgiven, reconciled to God and adopted as His children.

    John 1:12; Rom 5:10; Gal 2:15-16; Eph 2:8-10; Col 1:13-14

  • Humanity and Sin

We believe that all people are created in the image of God. However, through Adam’s disobedience, sin entered the human race. All people are sinners by nature. Without God’s gracious intervention, all are spiritually lost and subject to His righteous judgment.

    Gen 1:26-27, Gen 3:1-3, Ps 51:5; Rom 3:23-24; Eph 2:3, 12

  • The Return of Jesus Christ

We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ to take His Church to be with Him. This will be followed by a time of great tribulation on the earth, after which Christ will again return, this time to restore Israel to righteousness and establish His kingdom for 1,000 years. After this time God will create a new heaven and a new earth.

    Rom 11:25-27; 1 Thess 4:13-18, Rev 20:1-5, Rev 21:14

  • Final Judgment and Eternity

We believe that all people will be raised from the dead to face God’s judgment. Those who are justified by faith in Christ will enjoy eternal life with God in a literal new heaven and earth. Those who reject Him will face eternal separation from God in a literal Lake of Fire.

    Matt 10:28; 25:46, John 5:28-29, Rev 20:11-15
