Statement of Faith

  1. We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God, without error in the original text and is the only true authority for Christian faith and practice. (2 Tim 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21)

  2. We believe in One God existing eternally in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit each having exactly the same nature and attributes of God. (Deut 6:4, Matt 28:18-19)

  3. We believe the Father is fully God and his fatherhood is eternal and personal. He is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and all who believe in Christ. (1 Cor 8:6, Eph 1:3-4)

  4. We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of Mary when she was a virgin. He died as a substitute for all mankind and rose bodily from the dead and ascended to heaven where He is now our advocate with the Father. (Rom 9:5, John 10:30, Matt 1:23-25)

  5. We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and dwells in every believer and by His baptism unites all believers into the body of Christ, sealing them at conversion. Christ gave foundational gifts of the Spirit to the early Church and continues to give service gifts of the Spirit for the building up of the Church. The Spirit progressively produces Christlike character in us. (Eph 4:11-13, Gal 5:22-23)

  6. We believe all people are created in God's image and the sinful nature of the human race started when Adam sinned. All people are sinners by nature and by practice and without God's intervention are lost eternally and will face the judgement of God. (Gen 1:26-27, 3:1-3, Rom 3:9-18)

  7. We believe salvation is a free gift given by God purchased by the blood of Christ and accepted through faith alone without need of good works. All who put their faith in Christ are pardoned and restored and become a child of God. (Eph 2:8-10, Gal 2:15-16)

  8. We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ to take his Church to heaven. This will be followed by a period of great distress on the earth before Jesus Christ will return to reign for 1000 years. After this, God will create a new heaven and earth. (1 Thess 4:13-18, Rev 20:1-5,21:14)

  9. We believe all people will rise from the dead to face God's judgement. The just will enjoy eternal life with God in a literal heaven and the unjust will suffer eternal punishment in a literal hell. (Matt 25:46, John 5:28-29, Rev 20:5-6)
