Greatly Rejoice! 2 Peter 3:11-18 Future Vision - John H

John encourages us from 2 Peter to live a life motivated by a future vision of an impending judgment by investing in things that have eternal worth:
1, the souls of men and women,
2 the knowledge of the scriptures, and
3 the knowledge of God
Vision drives action and a vision of the future, and knowledge of God's past judgments, should compel us to share the gospel message to people who are perishing. God's judgment will be sudden, catastrophic, and unexpected.

2 Cor 5:10 : Will our works past the fire test
Prov 28:10 : 'Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint'

Greatly Rejoice! 2 Peter 3:1-10 Persevere - Ross P

Ross brings to us a message of encouragement to persevere and to run the race set before us in the face of testing and difficulty. Our sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. Rom 8:18

Peter gave his epistle so that we would not forget that Jesus is coming back.
'I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles',
